HUACHIN METAL LEACH SA (referred to as HML ) was registered and established on December 17, 2010 in Lubumbashi, Katanga Province, the Democratic Republic of the Congo. As a holding enterprise, it is the first benchmark project of China Nonferrous Metals Group to officially enter the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in line with the group's strategic layout of "rooted in Zambia, deeply engaged in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and jointly developing the two markets". Co-invested by CNMHK and HML. Its core business is the processing and smelting of copper ore and related mineral products. The plant is located on the outskirts of Likasi, Haut-Katanga Province, enjoying a convenient transportation network and outstanding geographical advantages.

Construction of the project commenced in April 2011, and the project was successfully put into operation in March 2012. Following capacity optimization, upgrades and independent innovation, the company completed its renovation and expansion in 2018. Its annual production capacity of cathode copper rose from the initial 5,000 tons to 23,000 tons. As the group's first copper smelting enterprise operating in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, HML has acted as a "bridgehead and pioneer". It has operated steadily for 11 consecutive years and achieved breakthrough development from zero to one. It has accumulated valuable practical experience for the group's follow-up resource development projects in the region.
