High-Concentration Grinding

To address the issues of water expansion caused by the high consumption of fresh water in traditional copper wet smelting processes, as well as unstable cyclone pressure and rough operation resulting from frequent power outages, HUACHIN METAL LEACH SA has innovatively adopted a process that removes cyclones and realizes open-circuit grinding by utilizing the height difference of its semi-autogenous grinding and ball milling facilities. By significantly increasing slurry concentration, the addition of fresh water has been greatly reduced. Slurry concentration has been gradually raised from the designed 40% to 75%, which effectively controls water expansion and lowers the construction cost of tailings ponds. Meanwhile, adjusting slurry with acidic solutions such as raffinate has stabilized the leaching rate, reduced sulfuric acid consumption, improved grinding efficiency, and achieved remarkable effects in cost reduction and efficiency enhancement.

Automated Acid Addition

To implement the group's digital transformation strategy, the "Digital Automation Upgrade Project for Production System" led by HUACHIN METAL LEACH SA was successfully completed in December 2025. Over two and a half years, an intelligent production model featuring "data driven + automatic adjustment + remote control" has been built around five modules, including pH automatic regulation, thickener turbidity control, extraction automation, and remote monitoring. The project has installed nearly 100 sets of intelligent equipment, adopted the "LoRa + fiber optic" dual-mode communication architecture, and independently developed an MCGS configuration system, realizing cross-brand equipment data integration and remote control. The precision of core process control has been significantly improved, and operations have shifted from "manual inspection" to "intelligent control".

Online Monitoring Of Tailings Pond

To further enhance the intrinsic safety level of tailings ponds, HUACHIN METAL LEACH SA initiated the construction of the "Tailings Pond Online Monitoring System" in June 2025. The system covers six monitoring categories: surface displacement, internal displacement, saturation line, reservoir water level, rainfall, and video surveillance. It adopts GNSS high-precision positioning, LoRa communication, solar power supply, and an "end-edge-cloud" architecture, with functions including automatic collection, intelligent analysis, multi-level early warning and remote access. The operation of the system has significantly improved the company's risk prevention and control capabilities, laying a solid foundation for the development of smart mines.

Photovoltaic Power Generation

HUACHIN METAL LEACH SA has established an independent and stable smart microgrid through its Light Storage Microgrid Project via the deep integration of photovoltaic power generation and energy storage systems. The project has been successfully completed and put into operation, which has comprehensively increased the proportion of green power consumption for the enterprise and accelerated the shift toward a clean, low-carbon energy structure. It has continuously optimized the existing power supply structure and formed an efficient complementary model with photovoltaic and energy storage as the main power source and diesel generators as backup. The project has significantly reduced reliance on diesel power generation, effectively cutting fuel transportation and storage costs as well as environmental and safety risks. Meanwhile, leveraging the flexible regulation capability of the energy storage system, it has greatly improved the stability, reliability and overall economic efficiency of power supply, providing a solid and reliable energy guarantee for the safe production and stable operation of the enterprise.

Laboratory Introduction

The laboratory of HUACHIN METAL LEACH SA focuses on quality control and testing analysis throughout the entire process of copper wet smelting. Equipped with advanced, precise and reliable professional testing equipment, it boasts rigorous, standardized, accurate and efficient comprehensive testing capabilities. Adhering to the working principles of scientific testing, strict quality control and accurate data, the laboratory provides full-chain testing and analysis covering raw ore, intermediate products and final products. By strictly controlling the quality of each production link, it offers solid and reliable technical support for the smooth and efficient operation of production, the continuous improvement of product quality, and the ongoing optimization of production processes.

Unmanned Intelligent Weighing

The Raw Material Department is equipped with an advanced unmanned intelligent weighing system to realize full automation of the weighing process. The system integrates modules including license plate recognition, infrared grating positioning, self-service terminals and voice prompts, enabling vehicles to complete weighing without drivers leaving their vehicles. During weighing, the infrared system automatically detects the vehicle position, while high-definition cameras capture and bind records from multiple angles. Weighing data is uploaded to the cloud in real time, and electronic weighing slips are generated automatically, preventing any human tampering. The system can be seamlessly integrated with raw material procurement, inventory and financial systems, achieving closed-loop management from vehicle entry to settlement. This has significantly improved warehousing efficiency, reduced labor costs, and enhanced the accuracy and transparency of measurement data.
